Help Us Create a Drone Technology Lab in Martuni

Modern technical education should be accessible to young people not only in Yerevan, but throughout Armenia’s regions.

We are creating a classroom and drone technology lab in Martuni where teenagers and young adults will be able to study how drones work, learn the fundamentals of electronics and software, train on computer simulators, and develop practical skills in assembling, configuring, repairing, and operating unmanned systems.

Our goal is not only to teach participants how to operate drones, but also to provide them with engineering and technical skills that can later be applied in education, agriculture, mapping, land monitoring, and other civilian fields.

As the program develops, we plan to introduce more advanced and larger unmanned systems, including agricultural drones. This will help young people in the region gain in-demand practical skills and discover professional opportunities within their own communities.

What We Plan to Create

To launch the lab, we need to:

  • prepare and equip the classroom;

  • install three computer workstations;

  • purchase training drones and control equipment;

  • purchase batteries, chargers, tools, and components;

  • create a technical area for assembling, configuring, and repairing equipment;

  • install a 3D printer;

  • organize the instructor’s work and launch the initial training program.

The lab will provide a complete learning experience—from theory and computer simulations to hands-on work with real equipment and the implementation of practical projects.

Key Areas of Study

Participants will learn:

  • the structure and operating principles of unmanned systems;

  • how to train using computer simulators;

  • the fundamentals of electronics and engineering;

  • soldering, assembly, configuration, and equipment repair;

  • how to work with specialized software;

  • practical operation of training drones;

  • the fundamentals of 3D modeling and 3D printing;

  • civilian and agricultural applications of drone technology.

3D Printing as a Practical Skill and a Source of Income

The 3D printer will be used not only to produce individual parts and repair equipment.

Participants will also learn 3D modeling, design their own products, and complete small practical orders. Over time, these skills may give young people an opportunity to earn their first independent income, develop their own projects, and provide useful services to residents and organizations in the region.

The lab is therefore intended to become more than a classroom. It will be a place where technical knowledge is transformed into practical skills, finished products, and new employment opportunities.

How the Funds Will Be Used

  • AMD 2,516,000 — training drones, control equipment, batteries, chargers, components, tools, and consumable materials;

  • AMD 1,404,000 — three computer workstations for simulators, technical software, and training;

  • AMD 1,000,000 — a 3D printer and the equipment needed for modeling instruction, product development, and practical projects;

  • AMD 300,000 — preparation of the classroom and creation of an instructor workstation;

  • AMD 146,300 — organization of the lab’s launch and the instructor’s work;

  • AMD 536,630 — organizational and administrative support, required payments, and the project’s contingency reserve.

The total project budget is AMD 5,902,930.
